The holidays are upon us, and New Years is right around the corner, so it’s that time of the year when I know many people are thinking about stocking up on a few bubbly wines to celebrate.
Costco is always a great place for sparkling wines. Granted the selection won’t be as broad as a big retailer like Total Wine, but there’s generally something for everyone at Costco, and the prices are hard to beat.
Here’s our bubbly wine write up from last year, and we’ll cover a few of the same bottles, along with a few new additions.

OK, let’s jump into this year’s list of bubbly wines.
2017 Gerard Bertrand Cremant de Limoux Brut Rose
We’re going to kick this off with a couple of sparkling rosé picks since those are extra popular this year. We’ve mentioned before that Gerard Bertrand is one of our favorite producers who is always super consistent and this brut rosé from Limoux doesn’t disappoint. It’s $14.49 and absolutely delicious. 2019 La Gioiosa Prosecco Rose DOC
Here’s an interesting alternative to your standard brut rosé that just came on our radar. A prosecco rosé. And it’s not far behind the above Gerard Bertrand by any stretch, plus the price is only $8.99. Definitely a little on the lighter side, but an amazing value at this price. [Our review]
La Gioiosa also offers a standard Prosecco for $1 less than the rosé, so only $7.99 at Costco. This is $1 more than the Kirkland Prosecco (that we mention next) and while we enjoy both bottles, we give this one the edge as far as ultra value bubbly buys at Costco this year. [Our review]
Kirkland Signature Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG
The famous purple bottle remains a solid choice for only $6.99. This is a great one to stock up on (even comes in a 3L bottle for $30). If you see this along with the aforementioned La Gioiosa prosecco, give them both a shot and see what you think. As far as low priced bubbly goes, those are your two best choices in our opinion. Let’s jump back to brut rosé for a minute. If you’re looking for a tasty one from California, look no further than the Chandon for $16. This is a delicious wine. It pours a nice light salmon pink color with flavors of mandarin orange and strawberry. [Our review]
Piper Heidsieck Cuvee Brut Champagne
Moving upmarket into the real Champagne territory, Piper Heidsieck is a good buy at Costco for $34.99 considering retail is closer to $50. Fans of Veuve Clicquot looking to save a few bucks might like this one. (Costco even offers a 6L bottle of Veuve for $830). [Our review]
There’s no doubt that regular readers saw this one coming. The Kirkland Champagne for $20 remains one of the best buys in the store in our opinion, and is a personal favorite. We buy a couple on every trip, and are delighted each time we open one and taste it. This is a real Champagne at a price that’s just unmatchable. [Our review]
That’s our bubbly round up for 2020. We enjoyed every bottle on this list, and from what we can tell in talking to readers and surveying our Costco stores, these wines should be pretty widely available.
