It's always nice finding a new Saint-Emilion Grand Cru arriving in Costco stores.
We just reviewed the brand new Kirkland Saint-Emilion Grand Cru which we found to be a perfect new addition to the Kirkland line of wines. That bottle came in at $15, which is a screaming bargain, and a slightly better wine than we tasted here.

This one from Chateau Ascension is 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. The price was $19.99 at our Costco, and the placard above highlights the 93 points score from Suckling. Also, a rather odd wine description if we say so ourselves.
We found this one to be a pretty good right bank Bordeaux, just needed some air, but checked a lot of boxes nonetheless.

This wine pours a deep dark ruby in the glass; earthy, oaky aromas with dark fruit, mushroom; medium bodied with nice acidity; red and dark fruit flavor, some black cherry, raspberry and plum; notes of vanilla, oak in the finish.
We're bringing this wine in just a point below the Kirkland Saint-Emilion, which we think is the better buy (quality and price). But Right Bank Bordeaux fans will still find a lot to like here as well.

Article and email mention 15.99 but price placard says 19.99?
Also you mention Suckling gives it a 93 rating but fail to mention that rating is for the overall year not the actual bottle?

$15 was in reference to the Kirkland Saint-Emilion. Sorry if that wasn’t clear.
Suckling rating on placard is for 2020 vintage. Same as reviewed.
