2015 Parducci “True Grit” Reserve Chardonnay

2015 Parducci “True Grit” Reserve Chardonnay

Pretty solid buy here for only $11.99.  This is the primary white wine in Parducci’s “True Grit” line that we are reviewing.  Erin recently wrote up the True Grit Reserve Cabernet and thought it was an excellent buy at $12.99. The Chardonnay is as well, and Costco’s $12 price is about as good as you can find for this wine after searching online and looking at other retailers.

This Chardonnay is perfect for people who think they don’t like Chardonnay. It’s a light, refreshing, juicy wine that’s just perfect for a warm day which is how we enjoyed it (while grilling).

Light citrus fruit on the nose, a little stone/earth and orange peel.  Flavors in the mouth include lots of pear with lemon and apple; the wine is citrusy and light with a hint of oak but not too much; a little vanilla enters towards the finish which is dry and juicy.

Very little in the way of butter or cream, which I prefer.  This wine really let’s the fruit shine through.  I’d say this is a nice spring and summer sipper at this price. A good food wine that is versatile enough to please a wide range of white wine fans even those (like I said) who don’t love Chardonnay.
