2014 Bodega Los Toneles Tonel 46 Reserva Malbec

2014 Bodega Los Toneles Tonel 46 Reserva Malbec

I like that you can typically score decent Malbec buys around $10, especially at Costco, and this bottle lines up nicely in that segment for only $10.99.

It didn’t knock my socks off, but the more I dug in, I found a really pleasant and easy drinking wine that is a solid buy and good value.

The wine is really pretty on the nose, fresh and aromatic, earthy and fruity, with sour cherry; the wine pours a slight see through dark purple in the glass and is medium plus in body.  More sour cherry in the mouth, with vanilla mocha, and smoky accents towards the finish.  Finish is very dry, with hints of spice.

This is a fun wine, a perfect every day drinker and a nice companion with a wide variety of food.  We paired it with spicy meatballs and it was fantastic.
