2013 Vina San Pedro 1865 Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc

2013 Vina San Pedro 1865 Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc

2013 Vina San Pedro 1865 Single Vineyard Sauvignon BlancThis Chilean bottle is definitely a different style of Sauvignon Blanc, a little more mineral and earthy than those you will find in other parts of the world.  It took me a little while to warm up to it, and while it has a little unpleasantness toward the finish, the rest of the experience helps making up for it.  At $13.89, I would say this is just an ok buy; worth it if you’re interested in trying a little different style of Sauvignon Blanc.

The wine is a very clear yellow on the pour, vibrant nose that kind of smells like the beach.  In the mouth, the wine starts with a burst of citrus flavor, then becomes a little tarty from the healthy acidity; toward the finish is really where the mineral component enters, a little stone, into a finish that is unique no doubt, but got a little tiring for me after a while.
