2013 Dobbes Family Estate Grand Assemblage Pinot Noir

2013 Dobbes Family Estate Grand Assemblage Pinot Noir

This is a lovely Oregon Pinot at Costco for $19.99 and a perfect companion for almost any food.  We enjoyed this on a crisp fall evening with butternut squash ravioli (also from Costco, if you haven’t tried it yet, you should) and it was a great accompaniment.  Good pinots like this are so versatile, and fun to enjoy any time of the year.  This is one of the better Pinots I’ve tried in recent memory that falls in this price range.

The wine starts with dried fruit and floral aromas with a touch of spice, followed by distinct red fruit flavor, strawberry, raspberry and cranberry.  It’s juicy in the mouth, soft into the finish that brings a touch of spice and rounds out with some lingering red cherry flavor and sticky acidity.

This wine is really enjoyable all the way through.  Pinot lovers will definitely enjoy this one, and I think fans of other fruit driven red wines will also find something to like.  I’m putting this one on the Top Picks list.
