There's nothing wrong with this Argentinian Cabernet that was on sale for $8.99 ($3 off). As far as inexpensive, sub $15 Cabernet goes, this would fall on the higher end in my opinion (and Wine Enthusiast gave it 90 points, if you're a points person). There's a little funk on the finish that I hope shakes off after a little more airtime.
The nose has a little smoke, heat and woody, whiskey barrel scent. Flavors of dark fruit, blueberry, blackberry, anise, tobacco that moves to more chocolate towards the finish. Herbal, peppery spice finishes this one up, which creates a long sticky, oaky aftertaste. Very South American, but that's a good thing in this price range. It's an interesting change of pace from what I've been enjoying lately. (and yes, after a little air, that funk did clean up).

Bought this in a 2 bottle gift set for 19.99 at Costco in Delaware, but the second wine is a Melbec. It also came with a digital bottle themonitor. The Cab is great, but haven’t opened the Melbec yet.
The same day, I also bought a 4 bottle Bordeaux pack, which was the worst red wine or French wine I have ever had. It was 30 dollars and I wish I had bought 3 bottle of anything else.

Thanks for the comments. What was the Bordeaux 4 pack? It would be nice to let everyone know so we can avoid that one. Appreciate the heads up.
