Veuve Ambal Cremant de Bourgogne Rosé Brut

Published: Jul 2, 2025 by Editor · 7 Comments

Veuve Ambal Cremant de Bourgogne Rosé Brut

There seem to be a few new bubbly options hitting Costco shelves and this is one that caught our attention. We'll try to taste and review some of the other new ones as well.

We are starting with this one because we are such big fans of Cremants from France as they typically serve as a good alternative to much more expensive Champagne.

This is a non vintage Cremant rosé from Burgundy likely made with Pinot Noir grapes, and perhaps some Gamay.

As the Costco placard points out the wine received 88 points from Wine Spectator and was named to their Top 100 sparkling wine list in 2023. We actually think 88 is a tad low for this wine, landing at 89 points.

The wine is a light pink on the pour; subtle nose of red fruit; dry, medium body; melon, strawberry, raspberry; nice, dry finish with pleasant effervescence throughout.

$15 at Costco makes this a great alternative for more expensive French bubbly rosé. This is a nice summer treat, we might go back to a few more times.

We enjoy cremant, and Costco in Birmingham used to have this one and the regular non-brut version of this brand. We both like the regular version better than brut but this one does in a pinch. This is the only one Bham Costco has had for a few months.
Whole Foods here has a better selection of cremants.

We love all bubbleys, so this one looks great. However, just did a search at my preferred Memphis Costco, and this came up. Same producer but different number, and price:
#1560079, 17.79 Veuve Ambal Brut Cremant Grand Cuvee France 750 ML

Know anything about this one? Guess I will keep looking here and Little Rock, since they now have one too.

Cool. Looks like standard brut, not rose. Give it a shot. Sounds promising. Let us know what you think

We’ve heard it was out there but have yet to find it and taste. Sounds like a great addition to the Kirkland wine portfolio. Let us know what you think once you try it.

OK so I quaffed the St. Emilion last night with a juicy steak over the grill. Unusual for me I gave it a full hour decant, and glad I did. Pouring for the decant I got a strong whiff of alcohol which was pretty diminished by the time the hour was up. On the pour it had good blackberry and dark fruit flavor, and tasted every bit a premium Bordeaux. It seems a little young right now, though for the price ($14.99) it's hard to pass up for current drinking. Suspect it will really blossom with 2 or 3 years in the cellar. I'm buying enough for both purposes.
