New Wine Book Published: Decoding Italian Wine

New Wine Book Published: Decoding Italian Wine

Today we finally published the Italian wine book we’ve been working on for the past year. It is called “Decoding Italian Wine: A Beginner’s Guide to Enjoying the Grapes, Regions, Practices and Culture of the ‘Land of Wine.'”  This has been a fun project, and really helped me gain a deeper understanding of Italian wine and culture, which can at first seem like quite the daunting study. But once you immerse yourself, it’s an incredible journey and far less intimidating than it seems.

I teamed with a good friend, Ryan McNally, who has published several books, including an entertaining one about wild college stories, and who is also the founder of VivaItalianMovies.com. Ryan has traveled extensively and studied throughout Italy on several different trips. Over the years, we have shared many conversations about Italian wine and film, and finally decided that we should team on a book that focused on the study of Italian wine but included fun cultural tid bits, references and quotes from Italian films (or films about Italy) that many people would know.

Soon after we started we recently the resulting book was going to be very different than anything else out there. And I think, looking over the manuscript today, that it turned out just as we intended.

If you’re interested in expanding your knowledge of Italian wine and you enjoy films from The Godfather to Bicycle Thieves, than this is the book for you. I hope you enjoy. Check it out on Amazon, where you can also read the first few chapters and preview the table of contents.

(I’m thinking about making December Italian wine month at CostcoWineBlog.com. Time to study up.)
