New at Costco: Wines of Europe 4 Bottle Box and Igloo Wine Tote Bag

New Wines of Europe Box and Igloo Wine Tote Bag

We have a bit of a combo news story here to highlight a couple new wine items we found on our most recent trip to Costco.

The first is a new Wines of Europe boxed set that is different than the Grand Vins de Bordeaux boxed set that is also in stores right now. This Wines of Europe box includes wines from France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.

The price is $34.99 for four 750ml bottles and the Costco item number is 1731063. In the past we've found these boxes to deliver great wine for the price, so there's no reason to expect this one to be any different.

Here are the wines included:

Chateau Bel Air Laclotte, AOC Bordeaux, 2023, Product of France/Red Wine, 13.5% alc./vol, 750 ml, Contains Sulfites - 100% Merlot, revealing ripe dark berries and a refined softness on the palate. An enjoyable medium-bodied experience. Perfectly suited to serve along with an elegantly roasted chicken with herbed potatoes.

Ulula de Esteban Martin, DOP Cariñena, 2022, Product of Spain /Red Wine, 14% alc./vol, 750 ml, Contains Sulfites - With blackberry, cassis and coffee aromatics on the nose and a freshness of tannins on the palate. Enjoyable. A perfect match for a hearty mediterranean dish such as grilled chicken or roasted lamb.

Artisanal Reserva, Alentejo Region, 2022, Product of Portugal/Red Wine, 13% alc./vol, 750 ml, Contains Sulfites-Pleasing fruit-forward profile with orange and red fruits dominating the nose and a tannic finish to match. Serve with your favorite cut of beef and sauteed vegetables.

Filari Galasso, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOP, 2021, Product of Italy /Red Wine, 12.5% alc/vol, 750 ml, Contains Sulfites - Dynamic nose of plums, red fruits and a hint of spice with excellent structure. Pair with your favorite classic Italian dishes, such as pizza or a lasagna.

We have some other bottles in the queue we need to review so we'll have to look at picking this one up at a later time if it's still around. If readers buy it, please put some notes in the comments below.

The next item we have is a new Igloo 2 bottle wine cooler and tote priced at $19.99 (item number 1819533).

We bought this immediately because of the quality. So many times we've purchased these two bottle soft coolers like this and after only a couple of uses they pool water at the bottom and start to leak, rendering them basically worthless.

Available in black like we bought, and also a brown, the insulation looks plentiful and the faux leather construction can pass as semi-elegant while feeling solid enough not to leak.

Time will tell of course, and we primarily use these in the summer time to keep whites chilled in transport, but this one is pretty enough to use for taking a few bottles to a wine dinner or event.

Both of these would also be great holiday gifts. Cheers everyone, and remember you can use the Costco app to search for these items near you: Use the new Costco mobile app and search with the Costco item number we listed above.
