Groth is a fantastic name in Napa Valley wines. Their Sauvignon Blanc makes pretty regular appearances at Costco, and their Cabernet Sauvignon (and Reserve) show up on rare occasions.
The winery sites on a prime location right in the heart of Oakville, across the street from B Cellars, another favorite of ours, and a great winery to check out if you're visiting Napa anytime soon.

This Sauvignon Blanc from Groth was priced at $18.99 at Costco versus a retail price of $30. And it actually has a little Semillon blended in which we tend to enjoy; the blend coming in at 89% Sauvignon Blanc and 11% Semillon.
This wine pours a medium yellow in the glass with aromas of citrus fruit, orange peel; more citrus fruit in the mouth, flavors of green apple, lemon and peach; nice acidity, bright and lively, juicy, lasting finish.

This turned out to be just we hoped for: a versatile Sauvignon Blanc that would pair with a lot of (end of) summer cuisine, salads, and seafood, but also stand strong just on its own.
