2009 Columbia Crest Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon

For $11.99 at Costco, there's a lot to like here.  I'm a fan of Washington State Cabs so I am a little jaded, but I think this is a wonderful Cab for the money.

The nose just starts things off right - it's fresh and earthy; then this wine gets really enjoyable on the palate, rather light in body (for a Cab) but packs a flavorful punch, a little spice, more earthiness, and ripe cherry flavors.  The finish is a little on the quick side, which is probably the only aspect of this wine I didn't enjoy.

But this bottle is a great buy at Costco for $11.99, and a good representation of Washington State Cabs priced on the value side of things.
