2007 Freemark Abbey Napa Cabernet Sauvignon

A classic Napa staple, Freemark Abbey is an awesome name for those $25-$50 bottles. They make jumping out of the teen price range worth all the while.  You can score their Merlot for under $20 sometimes, and this Cab was a great buy at my Costco for $29.99.

Spun with a hint of some other Bordeaux varietals (Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cab Franc), this Cabernet is rich and luscious with dark fruit flavor and cedar scents, good spice touch and a superb finish.  Just when you think it does get any better, an hour or so in the glass releases even more complexity, making this is a very fun wine to drink, especially with friends who may want to discuss it.

Again, one of my favorites so I'm going to be positive.  But do try this one for yourself.  I know it's not an inexpensive wine, but Costco's price is pretty good.  It's a heck of a treat, and I'll put it among our Silver Rated wines.
