2004 Bodegas Resalte de Penafiel Ribera del Duero de Restia

As regular readers will know, I love Ribera del Duero bottles and believe they consistently deliver good wines for the price. Anyone who is excited about Malbec right now needs to try Ribera. This one was $15.99 at my Costco and it is worth every penny.

I just love the rustic, chalky but flavorful and spicy notes on this wine.  They just do it so well in Spain.  The wine is 100% Tempranillo, but given it has a few years of age on it, it has matured into a beautiful wine.  These wines need a tad of swirling to really open up.  But after an hour or so, they are hard to beat, and you will always think you are drinking a wine that cost much much more.

An easy addition to the Bronze Rated wine list.
