2008 Santa Rita Reserva Maipo Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

A big earth driven fruity mouthful from Chile's Maipo Valley, these wines from Santa Rita can generally be counted on to be good bargains. And this bottle is among the better ones priced at only $8.99 at my Costco.

I found this one to taste like comparable Cabernets from Chile that cost two or three times as much.  There's a lot going on, and it fills your whole mouth with big cherry and plum flavors with a touch of spice.  It got better as it aired a bit.  Awesome with hearty meals or even on its own for Cab fans.  Hard to beat for the price, which is similar to what I had to say about the 2006 vintage of this one.  An easy Value Pick.
