2009 Louis Latour Montagny 1er Cru La Grande Roche
| This is a nice, elegant and very well presented White Burgandy, just slamming the point home that Chardonnay from Cote D'Or is hard to beat. And the $15.99 price tag at Costco is almost too good for this caliber of wine. But that's why we shop there. An inviting floral nose, followed by clean and crisp flavors of apple, lemon, some citrus, kind of that stony/mineral taste that reviewers like to put in their notes (but that this region is also known for). And the finish is just rock solid. A beautiful wine from start to finish. This one is going to land on our Silver Rated Wine List, and is a must buy for white wine fans. I reviewed the 2007 Louis Latour Pouilly-Fuisse a while back and loved that as well, but this stands out as a notch above that bottle for essentially the same price.
