2006 Ruffino Modus Toscana
| This is a big time winner and at $21 at Costco it's well worth the money, tasting more like a bottle that would cost $40 or more. This wine is a near perfect Italian blend consisting of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. The result is an elegant and refined wine with cherry and plum flavors, a touch of spiciness mid way through, and a remarkably smooth and lasting finish. The fact it is from 2006 and offers a touch of age really rounds this one out. Probably one of the best values I've found at Costco in while, this bottle will land on both our Value Picks and Silver Rated wine lists. I really enjoyed this one, and I imagine you will too.
