A subtle, and pleasant Merlot from a producer that consistently delivers good wines for the money. This bottle for only $8.99 at Costco is a no brainer since I can't think of many more California Merlots that I enjoyed more for under $10. Starts with a nice inviting, spicy nose, then dark fruit flavors, incredibly smooth, nothing over the top; medium in body; finishes (maybe a little quick) with a little more spice. A well rounded wine at this price and extremely versatile for food pairing. An easy pick for our Value List, and a nice bottle overall. This one might surprise you.
