2007 Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Chateauneuf-du-Pape

You don't typically see too many Chateauneufs under $30 but I found this one at Costco for $26.99 and it turned out to be a great buy. Signature Chateauneuf all over this one; nose is earthy and spicy; deep, dark purple in color, full in body, perfect to accompany a hearty meal. Raspberry, cherry and licorice flavors, great spice on the finish. A nice wine. I'll put this on the Silver Rated wine list. If you're a fan of Rhone reds, this is one you might want to try.
