2008 Finca Lopez Noceti 1919 Malbec

Mendoza Malbecs are generally a safe bet, even if they are priced under $10 as this one was at Costco for only $8. But this region just produces a good wine for the money almost every time.  The 1919 Malbec is no exception.

Harvested from old vines and aged in French and American oak (one of my favorite combos) produces a nice rather simple red ideal for every day drinking.  Fruity, jammy, light in body for a full flavor red, subtle spice, quick finish.

Nothing special, nothing bad, this wine is priced right where it should be.  Not my favorite $10 Mendoza Malbec, but not one that I would tell anyone to avoid either.
