2009 Botani Sierras de Malaga Moscatel Seco
| This is an excellent white that I served as an aperitif to the enjoyment of everyone that tried it. The wine is 100% Moscatel, a somewhat off-beat but emerging variety (a variety of Muscat), whose relative obscurity shouldn't turn anyone away. This is an elegant white wine that can hang with the best of the them. It's pale yellow in color and immediately kicks out tropical and citrus fruit aromas that continue into each drink; a good dose of acidity, and a crisp finish. There's really nothing not to like here (even the price of $13.99), and it would be excellent with white fish, sushi, maybe even spicy Thai food. It'll land on the Bronze Rated wine list. The 2009 Botani Sierras de Malaga Moscatel Seco is my latest discovery. I have fallen in love with it for its sustaining bouquet. I won't eat sushi without it. ;)
