2008 Sterling Vinters Collection Chardonnay

A central coast Chardonnay that starts with fresh ripe fruit but falters towards the finish with an abundance of wood that creeps out of nowhere and fails to complement the nice flavors that were going on at first.

Not a bad addition to my 10 Under $10 series ; since it clocked in at $7.99 it's among the lowest priced Costco wines you're going to find.  But I think the Kirkland Sonoma Chardonnay I reviewed as part of this series is a fine example of a good Chardonnay that can be scored for under $10.  But I'm not a fan of overly woody or buttery Chardonnays, so perhaps this one is just not to my liking.
