2007 Louis Latour Pouilly-Fuisse

An excellent wine, and an amazing value at Costco for $14.49.  If you're looking for a nice French White, this label has all the necessary markings of a great wine: "Pouilly-Fuisse," "Cote D'Or" and a dependable name like Louis Latour.  I was surprised to see this wine at this price in the store, and was even more thrilled with it once I opened it.

This is,
in my opinion, how Chardonnay should be presented.  By minimizing the oak that just overtakes most Chardonnays, particularly those produced in the US, the true characteristics of the grape come through.  Some people love a lot of oak; I just don't.  The results of keeping it under control can be seen in a bottle like this, that's just bright, clean, flavor packed with pear and apple, both with the richness you expect from Chardonnay, and the finesse you would expect from wines from Pouilly-Fuisse.

I'm a big fan of this bottle at this price.  It's worth exploring and I'll name it as a
Value Pick as well as a Bronze Rated wine.
