2010 Seghesio Sonoma Zinfandel
|This is one of my favorite wines that Costco carries regularly with each year’s release. The new 2010 vintage reminds me of the spectacular 2007 (which I still have a few hiding away). This wine is just delicious, even though it’s so young. A few years in the bottle would make it even better. |
This is a big meaty red wine, full in body and kind of dry in the mouth; the dark berry flavors really come through on the palate making this an awesome food wine. Finish brings on a little spice with some chalkiness that keeps you clawing back for more. Really really nice all the way around.
This 2010 vintage is hitting me better than in year’s past. I’m going to have to go with low 90’s for points on this one. Similar to how I felt about the 2007. And clearly a step up from the 2008, which wasn’t bad either. I’ll also drop it on our Silver Rated wine list. This bottle is worth every penny of its $18.99 Costco price tag. Enjoy.
