2007 Santa Rita Reserva Carmenere

An excellent value Carmenere that was only $8 at Costco.  The Santa Rita Reserva wines have always held up pretty good for me.  Here's my review of the '06 Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon, which again I found at Costco for around $8.  The Carmenere is a good change of pace, particularly in the winter months where a big spicy red can warm things up.

This bottle is really balanced well though for something in this price range.  It's easy drinking, the spice kicks in after the fruit and wraps things up in a nice smooth package.

This is a bottle you should buy.  The price is right, and you might just find the right time to yank out a Carmenere.  I'm going to rate it pretty high and add it to my
Value Picks.
