2009 Montgras Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon – Syrah
|Certainly an interesting red blend from Chile’s Colchagua Valley, but I almost might have preferred the grapes seperately. This region produces nice, distinct, meaty reds from each of these varietals and I really enjoy them on most occassions.|
That said, this wine was $8.99 at my Costco and for that price, it’s fine. It’s exactly what you expect if you’re a fan of Chilean reds. The cab brings a nice plum and cherry flavor with the syrah adding some spice with a little dryness to the close.
Overall, a decent bottle that will probably appeal to fans of blends, and it does so at a reasonable price.
