2009 Kirkland Signature Carneros Pinot Noir
The Carneros Pinots from Kirkland are among my favorites in the Kirkland lineup for the price. This bottle was only $9.99 and for an under $10 Pinot Noir, you’re going to have a hard time finding one that’s much better.
I reviewed the 2008 of this one about this time last year (as part of my 10 under $10 series), and really enjoyed it. And I like the 2009 for many of the same reasons.
It’s a smooth and easy drink for an inexpensive Pinot; a little young on the nose, but surprising once you get in. Nice cherry flavor that erodes a bit throughout the finish, but all in all, it’s a nice wine for the money. I’m going to put it on our Value Picks list, which I didn’t do last time.
