2007 Santa Rita Reserva Carmenere
|An excellent value Carmenere that was only $8 at Costco. The Santa Rita Reserva wines have always held up pretty good for me. Here’s my review of the ’06 Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon, which again I found at Costco for around $8. The Carmenere is a good change of pace, particularly in the winter months where a big spicy red can warm things up.|
This bottle is really balanced well though for something in this price range. It’s easy drinking, the spice kicks in after the fruit and wraps things up in a nice smooth package.
This is a bottle you should buy. The price is right, and you might just find the right time to yank out a Carmenere. I’m going to rate it pretty high and add it to myValue Picks.
