2007 Kirkland Signature Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
|This one grew on me as I got into it. It’s not your typical Cab since it’s a hodgepodge blend of every red grape imaginable (Syrah, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Tannat and Petite Sirah), and the distinctness of the Cab is lost somewhere in the middle. |
But the wine comes out to be kind of interesting on its own. Lots of dark fruit and cherry flavor, but it’s really the spice and cinnamon on the finish that make you go in for the third and fourth drink.
I went in expecting one thing, but came out with another. I guess that makes it “interesting” at least to me. The $10.99 price tag isn’t bad for a bottle that I probably wouldn’t buy again, but I’m not bummed out that I did.
