2007 B Side Napa Cabernet Sauvignon
|I love the idea behind this bottle: assembled from grapes from two vineyards located on the outskirts of some of the most popular and well known areas of Napa, aged for 2 years in French Oak, and call it B Side. This wine is produced by Don Sebastiani & Sons which is well known for making very good, low cost California reds (such as Smoking Loon and SKN), and this B Side is an excellent addition to their lineup.|
The wine is 93% Cabernet Sauvignon with 7% Petite Sirah, and tastes like a signature Napa Cab with plenty of dark fruit flavor, hints of oak, and a delicate balance through to a sustained finish. Just begging to be enjoyed with steak or beef dishes.
This is a cool, fun bottle that I had to buy the instant I saw it ($20 at my Costco). Great for taking to parties for the conversational aspect, but it’s a winner even beyond the interesting story.
