2006 Robert Mondavi Napa Cabernet Sauvignon
|Needed a little air before it showed its true form. So if you buy this (and you should), pour a few glasses and let them sit for an hour before you dive in. I could tell on the pour that this was a nice wine, but once it opened up, it became even better.|
Although it’s not labeled as such, I did discover from a little research that this bottle is a blend, which I suspected because the spice was so prevalent. But it’s obviously heavy on the Cabernet Sauvignon: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Syrah. It works well, and makes for a fairly complex and well balanced Napa wine.
Costco’s $18.99 price on this bottle is definitely the best I’ve ever seen. At that price, this is an excellent bottle that will land on my Bronze Rated wine list.
